If more Canadians watch U.S. television than our federal party leaders' debate on Thursday night, it's likely because they are more curious about Sarah Palin since they can't watch who survived the ambulance explosion on ER or how The Office 's weight-loss competition is coming along.

Shares of Hansen Natural Corp. sank on Monday, following Wall Street lower and amid news the maker of the Monster Energy drink will take a big charge to end agreements with some distributors.

So after a flurry of bad news, again, McCain & Palin decide to try and distract voters with more smears and "look over there" tactics. Doesn't surprise me. Like I wrote when McCain "suspended" his campaign to fix the economy, when in doubt pull out the gimmicks. McCain has based his entire campaign so far on gimmicks and distractions....

"Pretty soon we'll have to fly naked!" The mass media rapidly embraced the UK terror storyline fed to them. The BBC, CNN, CBC Newsworld and other all-news broadcasters covered scarcely anything but the narrowly averted catastrophe throughout the day. Funny thing, but the general public wasn't buying it. The reaction was surprisingly cynical...
