So after a flurry of bad news, again, McCain & Palin decide to try and distract voters with more smears and "look over there" tactics. Doesn't surprise me. Like I wrote when McCain "suspended" his campaign to fix the economy, when in doubt pull out the gimmicks. McCain has based his entire campaign so far on gimmicks and distractions....

The BBC, CNN, CBC Newsworld and other all-news broadcasters covered scarcely anything but the narrowly averted catastrophe throughout the day. Funny thing, but the general public wasn't buying it. The reaction was surprisingly cynical...
